MWAH Bournemouth of Westbourne Faced Bridal Makeup Test in Searing Heat of Italy
MWAH Bournemouth of Westbourne Faced A Bridal Make Up Challenge In The Searing Heat in Ravello on the Amalfi Coast in Italy Last Week.
Simone and MWAH Bournemouth of Westbourne had been booked by the Bride, Aimee Balodis to attend her wedding in Ravello on the Amalfi Coast in Italy. The bride wanted a very vintage but elegant look for her and her bridesmaids.
The first challenge was that Aimee was allergic to many make up brands and the common ingredients found in make up today such as Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone and Glycacil, the second challenge was that the temperature was in the 30's and Simone needed to ensure that the makeup looked perfect and did not dissapear, cake or slip in the very humid sticky heat. The wedding and subsequent celebrations were for 12 hours and included a 7 course meal.
For the base face cream Simone used Oil of Olay Beauty Fluid
Followed by Face Base/Foundation/
MAC Pro Performance HD Airbrush Make Up
For the Eyes Simone used: Illamasqua Medium pencil for eyes for the base before putting eyeshadow on to prevent the shadow from slippage - Colour: Interrogate followed by Illamasqua Neutral Palette & Illamasqua: Sorceress Black Eye liner pencil
Simone then added MAC - Fake Eyelashes to complete the eyes.
For the Cheeks/Blush Simone used Illamasqua Powder Blush - Patie
finishing off with the brides Lips - Simone used Inglot Lip Paint Rouge A Levres
Completing the look Simone used Chanel - Soleil Tan De Chanel all over the brides arms and back for a little bit of subtle sparkle.
The next challenge Simone faced was when it came to the bridesmaids. One of the bridesmaides Becky had been attacked by mosquitos in Milan two days previously and had approximately 20 very large and very raised deep purple bites all over her arms, chest, neck and back. The bridesmaid dresses were cream Grecian style dresses which meant a lot of the flesh was exposed. Simone was able to airbrush Becky's bites so they were not visible. Bride and Bridesmaids were elated that the bites were not visible and would not be seen in the photo's. Aimee was over the moon with the look that Simone had created for her and her bridesmaids. She said "Im over the moon with the results. I was really worried my make up wouldn't last for the photographs and the celebrations because of the sticky heat, and when Becky got attacked by the mosquitos we were all mortified. However i put my faith in Simone and she didn't let me down, she is a fantastic make up artist and i am so so pleased with the results, because Simone Air brushed our make up it was very light and natural looking but had the ability to cover imperfections giving a perfect flawless finish, thank you Simone!"
Simone also made up other wedding guests and even used some MWAH Bournemouth of Westbourne 3/4 wig long hair pieces for some of the guests. Francesca, one of the guests who recieved full airbrush make up and wore a MWAH hair piece stated "Simone did a fabulous job for everybody. When i looked in the mirror when i got back to my hotel room at 3am i looked exactly how i did when i left it to attend the wedding 12 hours earlier. My make up was perfect and my hair was sleek and elegant. No one realised i was wearing a hair piece!"
Simone states - it was an absolute pleasure to be comissioned to do this wedding for Aimee. It was a stunning setting, yes i had some challenges i might not necessarily face in England, but i over came them and everyone looked fantastic!"
