-- The seminar is open to all ages and levels of experience. We will study the major components of music as related to the guitar. By studying sound, harmony, melody and rhythm from a guitarist’s perspective you will better understand music composition, scale theory and improvising (playing lead guitar), chord theory, transposition, and fretboard strategy.
The class will meet for six consecutive Mondays from 7 – 9 p.m. at Ranch View Baptist Church, 415 Rancho Santa Fe Rd., in Encinitas, beginning Monday, Aug. 6 2012. Participating in the class costs $175.
Pupping has been teaching and performing in Southern California for more than 30 years. His band, the Peter Pupping Band, released a new CD entitled Café Pacifico earlier this year. Pupping earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from San Diego State University. He organizes and directs the Encinitas Guitar Orchestra twice each year.
