California Utility selects ATS to deliver a Learning Management System to improve operator readiness
July 18, 2012 - PRLog -- Silverdale, WA, July 18, 2012 - Applied Technical Systems (ATS) announces today that a large California utility has awarded them a new software development contract aimed at improving operator training, remediation and overall crew readiness.

ATS will leverage widely available software to deliver a web-based solution for its over 200 plant operators. This project will entail a Learning Management System for training coupled with Business Intelligence software to provide reporting and analytics.  These improved tools will train operators and measure performance, anticipate focus areas for remediation and assist in trending overall crew effectiveness for a variety of scenarios that the plant must be capable of responding with decisive precision.

“Effective responsiveness to a variety of situations that effect power plant performance is a fundamental necessity to ensuring a plant is safely delivering power,” said ATS President & CEO Rick Leenstra.  “Combined with our Maintenance & Supportability Analysis Tools, legacy data and CAD conversion, ATS is pleased to enter the utility market with maturing products and services.”

This summer, ATS will design, develop and deliver the first phase of the project.
