Fantasy/Medieval Series “9Realms : Dagan”, a Hartford CT Production

HARTFORD –  Filmmakers in Hartford CT are working on a fantasy/medieval web series, entitled “9Realms : Dagan”. The purpose of the series will be to tell the back-story of  a planned feature film, “9Realms”. The web series is meant to attract fans to the project, and showcase the filmmakers ability to craft and create compelling cinema. The ultimate goal of the 9realms project is to bring an “epic” production to the state of CT, and to mirror the success of recent series, including ABCs “Once Upon a Time” and HBOs “Game of Thrones”. Since Dagan will be a series of 6 short films available on the web, it will be free to watch and enjoy. The filmmakers are attempting to raise funding for the series, by using the crowd sourcing website Kickstarter. Right now, the only way for this project to be completed is by public support. 9Realms : Dagan chronicles the beginnings of 5 characters from the 9Realms Universe. Each episode will be told from a different narrative, offering a unique perspective that will keep the series fresh. Set in 10th century Germany, The six episodes will follow the early childhoods of Thomas Cassy and Edward Allasundre, explaining the unique circumstances of how they became orphans, childhood friends, and skilled warriors on the battlefield. It will tell of their growing up, drifting apart, Thomas creating a family, and finally, abandoning it to join Edward and become part of the feared demonic legion, the Red Specters.  

Dagan features a great local cast, including Gary Ploski as Edward (Rising Star, Objects of Time), Kent R. Williams as Henrow (Body of Proof, Sensory Perception), Maria Natapov as Katerina (Noah, Erebus), Breanna Engle as Lydia (The Underground) and introducing Sean Gilmore as Thomas. The crew includes Director of Photography Nicholas J Wise (12 in a box, All the children are sleeping), 1st AD Jordan Pacheo (Human Nature, Exhumed), and Casting Director Lisa Durkee (Brilliant Mistakes, The Clearing). This is the first major project by writer/director Ty Yachaina.
