Successful Financing for New Social Media Company, Do you Remember?, Means Early Expansion

Investors have started to get on board with what is being called “a memory playground” and their financial contributions have followed.
 
July 16, 2012 - PRLog -- NEW YORK, July 6, 2012 ---Do You Remember? is the latest in social media applications and the digital destination for all things nostalgic. Specifically devoted to sharing our collective memories, this app is a fun and entertaining new platform that utilizes photos and videos from the internet to connect users through various forms of digital interface. This exciting social experience, which is currently in beta mode,  was created to provide millions of users with joy-filled hours spent engaged in reminiscing. The creators have found that there really isn’t anything out there on the market with the purpose to specifically target nostalgia lovers. Do You Remember? successfully launched their seed round of financing on June 15th, 2012.  They quickly secured their goal of $500,000 well ahead of schedule. The response was met with so much enthusiasm that the founders decided not to turn away interested investors, but instead to reopen the invitation and increase funding by an additional 50%.

Do You Remember? is the brainchild of Michael Gitter, who’s twenty years of experience in advertising inspired him to create the DoYouRemember nostalgia book series and NOSEtalgia, the only scratch ‘n sniff book of childhood memories..
“We are proud to announce that we fully met the financial goal during our seed round of financing,” said Gitter. “Increasing our funding at this juncture will help us to more quickly develop our website and app and allow for other interested parties to contribute and be a part of this exciting new program.”

The Company is developing a variety of different apps and functionalities, including TimeLiner, a means for users to populate their Facebook page Timelines with memories created on DoYouRemember.com and their mobile app.  

Funds will be used for several high-level hires as well as general operating expenses of the company including programming, design, marketing, legal work and public relations.

The company plans to follow in the footsteps of other recent social media giants, such as Pintrest and Instagram. They have currently amassed over 2,500 beta testers eager to explore the site. These users will help to impact the future versions of the site. Improved versions will include a nostalgia store with one-of-a-kind gift items, the DYR Magazine, guest columnists and much more.
