July 15, 2012 - PRLog -- Dr. Todd Austin and his wife Eugena Austin, both from Austin Family Chiropractic in Virden, IL will plan to stay busy on the sidelines again this summer. That's because they remain the official sideline Doctor of Chiropractic and Licensed Massage Therapist for the Springfield Foxes football team in 2012.

The Foxes are currently in their 3rd season as a franchise. This season has brought about some changes. There are many new faces and much new talent on the team. The Foxes continue to play the majority (3) of their home games at John B. Pacotti Field in Kincaid, IL. They will also be playing 1 game with a change of venue, that being Sacred Heart Griffin Stadium in Springfield, IL. The SHG game will be at 7 P.M. on Saturday August 11, 2012 and it will be a Special Benefit Game for Allison Faith Hill. Alli is a 6 year old with Down's Syndrome who also suffers from a very serious heart condition. For more information, the facebook event page about the "Foxes Game for Alli" can be found at:

The team has some local talent from Kincaid in #56 Andy Nash.  Nash played for the South Fork Ponies and even won a Little League Championship on John B. Pacotti Field!  In the Foxes first 2012 regular season contest versus the Mid-State Steel on July 14, down by a touchdown and with time running out, #56 Nash made his presence felt by delivering a crack back block on the kick return allowing the Foxes returner to blaze down the sideline to put the foxes back on top for good, winning 40 to 36 foxes!  O line, D line & Special Teams Coach Jason Kirkendoll also hails from Kincaid where he too played high school football for the South Fork Ponies.

The holistic healthcare duo from Austin Family Chiropractic will be on the sidelines for all four home games as well as one possible playoff home game (if necessary). Dr. Austin has loved the game of football since he was 7 years old. Dr. Todd has been an Associate Member of the Professional Football Chiropractic Society since 2011. That organization's goal is to have a Doctor of Chiropractic available on the sidelines for ever American football team from the NFL all the way down to Pop Warner teams. The Foxes are actually a semi-professional team with the age of their players ranging from 18 to 40.

Dr. Todd will be performing chiropractic care (spine and extremity adjustments) as well as cold laser therapy (to help reduce inflammation and improve range of motion quicker) on the sidelines. Dr. Todd states that "Last season I dealt mainly with shoulder, low back and neck issues during the games". Eugena also kept busy during the 2011 season with the Foxes, providing therapeutic massages primarily on low backs, calves and hamstrings. Since the team doesn't have an official athletic trainer this season, Dr. Todd and Eugena will also be helping with some of the taping and icing duties as well as helping players to stretch out and applying Biofreeze pain relief spray.

The Foxes home opener will be at 7 P.M. in Kincaid on Saturday July 21, 2012. For more info, visit
