NAWBO California Names Renee White Fraser 2012 Woman Business Owner of the Year

July 16, 2012 - PRLog -- NAWBO California, a federation of nine chapters of the National Association of Women Business Owners, today announced that Renee White Fraser, Ph.D, President/CEO of Fraser Communications was named the 2012 Women Business Owner of the Year. NAWBO California 2011-12 President May Pon, presented the award to Fraser at the opening luncheon of the NAWBO California 15th Annual Public Policy Summit in Sacramento this past June.

“Renee Fraser is an influential businesswoman and compassionate civic leader who infuses an ethical mindset and commitment to quality into all of her endeavors,” said May Pon, 2011-12 NAWBO California President. “In growing her agency into one of the top independent advertising agencies in Los Angeles and one of the fast-growing woman-owned businesses in the United States, Renee daily demonstrates her astute business sense combined with creativity and bold vision. We are proud to name her the NAWBO California 2012 Business Woman of the Year.”

Fraser is a past president of NAWBO LA and a social psychologist whose company creates award-winning, integrated advertising and public relations campaigns for such clients as Toyota, BusinessWire, Metropolitan Water District, First 5 California and more. Fraser Communications’ motto is “Doing Well By Doing Good”; it has received numerous industry accolades as well as national media recognition and in 2011 was named Agency of the Year - Digital Media from ThinkLA. She was recently honored as one of the 50 influential women in Los Angeles, by Los Angeles Magazine.

Fraser also has a successful radio show on CBS Radio called Unfinished Business where she and co-host Betsy Berkhemer encourage and inspire entrepreneurship among listeners. She serves on the national board of Volunteers of America as well as the boards of United Way of Los Angeles and WISE and Healthy Aging. Fraser also co-chairs the Business Leaders Task Force to end homelessness in Los Angeles, a joint effort between United Way and the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce. She is currently President of the International Women’s Forum, Southern California.

June 2012 marked the 15th annual California Public Policy Summit in the state capital hosted by NAWBO California, a federation of nine chapters of the National Association of Women Business Owners. The two-day educational event, open to all business owners including non-NAWBO members, gives Californians direct access to their state legislators, provides current information about local, state and federal legislation that affects their industries, information about healthcare, HR, taxes and financing, leadership training and more.
