By: Big J Books New York, NY – Big J Books announces a mini book tour with authors and illustrator Mia and James C. Best, Jr. signing first edition copies of their new children’s picture book Brave Little Dave at libraries in both Hanover and Caroline County. The events are free and will be held during the regular story time hour 11:00am -12noon at the North Avenue Library in Richmond (July 31st) and 10:00am – 11:00am at the following Caroline County Libraries: Ladysmith (Aug. 1st), Bowling Green (Aug. 2nd) and Dawn (Aug. 3rd). Brave Little Dave, a fun reminder of the 23rd Psalm, is a bright, fun and inspirational story that appeals to kids ages 3-12. Dave is a young boy with an adventurous heart who takes a detour that puts him face-to-face with a giant obstacle. Readers will shout for joy when Dave wins the battle in a whimsical tale that encourages kindness. Both authors will read Brave Little Dave followed by a mini-illustration workshop lead by co-author and illustrator James C. Best, Jr. The younger children will be provided with Brave Little Dave coloring pages and the older children will be guided in an illustration exercise. Mia J. Best, a native of Caroline County, began writing as soon as she could hold a pencil. She studied Mass Communications at Hampton University and later transferred to NYU where she received her B.A. in journalism. James C. Best, Jr. holds a B.F.A from the prestigious Cooper Union Institute for Art and currently works as an Art Director for The New York Times. He runs his own graphic design company First Class of Color http://firstclassofcolor.com/ Big J Books will platform its early literacy initiative with Brave Little Dave Brave Hearts Club (BHC). Children who sign up for BHC will receive a special certificate pledging to be a fearless reader and can enter a Summer Olympic Reading Challenge.
