Follow on Google News | Self-Taught Detroit Native is Featured Artist on The WrighterThe Wrighter featured self-taught contemporary artist, John McLaughlin as part of an ongoing summer series.

A fluctuation of control and careful planning, along with letting go, allowing for surprises, then bringing it all back into a state of focus,” McLaughlin stated. The Wrighter’s tribute to “The Scream” was created in May, after the record breaking auction in New York, and features two artists a week. McLaughlin is the fourteenth featured artist and shares his own version of “The Scream” titled, “Feathered Look” along with images of some of his favorite work. When asked about his favorite purchase within the last 30 days, he replied, “My favorite thing last purchased would be the book "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" Wright, creator, contributor and editor of The Wrighter, is a California native who earned her BA degree in Journalism from the California State University, Fullerton. She has created several art series, including, “Fractured,” Wright has written several books, including, “50” and “A Crime And A Simplification Of Something Sublime,” the latter includes several of her sketches. She is also an actress who has performed in theater productions, independent films and commercials.
