Tubbs Romp to Stomp® Out Breast Cancer Snowshoe Series Wraps-up 10th Year; Surpasses $2.2 Million Raised

(July 12, 2012) – With its tenth season of Romp to Stomp events all wrapped up, the Tubbs Snowshoes is proud to announce that its Romp to Stomp® Out Breast Cancer Snowshoe Series raised over $400,000 for its beneficiaries, Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation®. In spite of low winter snowfall across much of North American, snowshoers came out in droves to support the events, which attracted more than 6,900 participants of all ages across its nine event locations.

The Romp to Stomp is the largest snowshoe series in North America and continues to grow each year with event sites across the United States and Canada, including locations in British Columbia, Colorado, Minnesota, New Jersey, Ontario, Oregon, Utah, Vermont, and Washington. Since the Tubbs Romp to Stomp began in 2003, the Series has raised more than $2.2 million to help fund life-saving community outreach programs and fuel global breast cancer research.

“The Romp is a fun, unique way to bring awareness and support to breast cancer research and Susan G. Komen for the Cure,” said first-time Romp to Stomp participant Erica Youngberg. “The Romp was my first time showshoeing and I really enjoyed it. Now, I have something new to enjoy during the winter.”

Rompers of all ages and abilities, from the first-time showshoer to the weekend snowshoe warrior, enjoyed the opportunity to try out Tubbs demo snowshoes on the groomed 3k or 5k snowshoe courses, join in the Lil Romper Dash for Rompers age 12 and under, pick up goody bags, and earn prizes for top-performing racers and fundraisers. Event locations and dates for the 2013 Romp to Stomp Series will be announced this summer.
