The Soho Loft Promotes Green Investing at Converge in Calgary During Stampede on July 12
In an effort to promote green investing through crowd funding The Soho Loft has teamed up with Converge and their EcoChic Project in Calgary on July 12.
"Crowdfunding and eco-entrepreneurship are made for each other,“ says Peter Einstein, Founder the EcoChic Project and CrowdFunding4All. “The EcoChic Project is dedicated to protecting the planet through the power of the marketplace and crowdfunding can play a huge part in helping small businesses meet the growing demand for products that represent a true convergence of style-consciousness and eco-consciousness. We are honored to have The Soho Loft and RocketHub join The EcoChic Project in helping promote the use of crowdfunding to the growing green community in Calgary."
“Thought leaders on crowd funding will explain various existing funding opportunities for start-ups in the green space,” says David Drake. “The content will be hands-on, inspiring to entrepreneurs concerned about how to fund projects at an early research & development stage. A macro part of the discussion focuses on how modifications of the law already have a positive impact on private markets in US and Europe. I want showcase how Canadian entrepreneurs may learn from the challenges and opportunities created after the JOBS Act (Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act) was signed by President Obama.”
"The tsunami of equity crowd funding is coming to the US, “ says Mark Perlmutter, President of MicroAngels. “It empowers the general public (the 99%) to invest small dollars in businesses they know and love and wish to patronize. This game changer creates sustainable jobs and rebuilds the economy for the long term, just in the nick of time."
The panels, held at the 100th anniversary of the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede, will gather millions of spectators from all over the world. Converge Calgary is combining culture, technology, and philanthropy into a number of globally conscious networking events. “The EcoChic Project is dedicated to protecting the planet through the power of the marketplace,”
“Because crowdfunding investors are not purely concerned with monetary profit, they can take environmental returns into account,” says Sara Hanks, co-founder and CEO of CrowdCheck. “Crowdfunding lets people invest in the world that they want to live in. Crowdfunding would be an ideal way for the many small Canadian natural resources companies that are having such a hard time getting access to capital to get that funding.”
The EcoChic Project will feature both daytime and evening activities, performers include: U.S. teen idol Jordan Newt, Toronto rockers Flowerchild, local singing sensation Angie Hills, and more to be announced. Tickets are now available for EcoChic Project at http://ecochic.zoobis.com.
