Poet Rose Gordy visits Greetings & Readings bookstore for Book Signing

July 11, 2012 - PRLog -- The Greetings & Readings bookstore has invited author Rose Gordy for a special book signing event on Saturday July 14th, 2012. Rose Gordy will be at Greetings & Readings from 1:00-3:00 PM signing copies of her latest book "Stairs to the Attic" and chatting with fans of her other books, "The Ladies Baltimore," "Unsettled Lives" and "Into The Green Unknown."

Author and dream counselor Rose Gordy spent thirteen years of her early life as a nun effectively cut off from the world. In spite of the conditions within the church, she managed to leave and make a life for herself including getting married and having three sons. Through her experiences in the convent of the 1960's as well as decades of teaching in the classroom, she has woven a loose autobiographical narrative into this surprising book of poetry, "Stairs to the Attic."

A collection of poetry down to earth yet otherworldly, this is a book which instinctually eschews the conventional. Amidst the hundreds of little adventures within these pages, readers will no doubt find themselves transported to places and feelings familiar and fantastic. About the Author:
In addition to being the writer of four books, "The Ladies Baltimore: Mothers and Daughters Alone and Together," "Into the Green Unknown," "Unsettled Lives" and "Stairs to the Attic," Rose Gordy is also a veteran secondary English teacher, national & state workshop facilitator, speech coach, dream counselor, and published poet, essayist and short story writer. She earned a Masters Degree in English and French from the University of Notre Dame and has been writing and teaching for most of her life. She resides in the Washington, D.C. area.
