Following an internship in Internal Medicine at Ohio Valley Medical Center, West Virginia, his training was provided through radiation oncology residencies at nationally-recognized institutions including National Cancer Institute (NCI) and University of Alabama (UAB) in Birmingham; where he was Chief Resident. He received his fellowship training from M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. At M.D. Anderson, Dr. Murshed specialized in head and neck cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, and prostate cancer. While pursuing his Master’s Degree, Dr. Murshed’s research thesis involved radiation therapy for lung cancer. In addition he has authored several radiation oncology articles on IMRT, head and neck cancer, endometrial cancer, prostate cancer and soft tissue sarcomas. He has published a popular radiation oncology book, Clinical Fundamentals for Radiation Oncologists, for residents.
