XXBC Launches High-End Collection of Limited-Edition, Vintage-Inspired Streetwear

July 11, 2012 - PRLog -- New York, New York (July 11, 2012) – XXBC (“twenty b.c.”) has launched its high-end streetwear line with a limited number of unique, hand-sewn crewneck sweatshirts featuring accents in vintage fabrics.  

Using vintage swatches with classic and unusual patterns and colors, each XXBC piece is virtually unique. Collection I—the new brand’s premier collection—is focused on originality and exclusivity, and approaches clothing as an art form.

The XXBC brand was conceived by former Boston College students Alex Lee and Will Thompson in 2011. They quickly realized that they both had a passion for, and a deep knowledge of, high-end streetwear and vintage styles, and that they shared certain ideals that drove the emerging brand concept.

“We’ve always felt that streetwear brands tended to lack originality and innovation,” says XXBC co-founder Alex Lee. “We wanted to do something that no one has seen before, something that would turn heads.”

Emphasizing a desire for individuality and originality, XXBC promotes the phrase, “When in Rome, Do You.” In other words, be yourself, no matter what, and don’t worry about what anyone else is doing. This attitude is apparent in the brand’s first collection, which offers both eye-opening freshness and exclusivity. “Being a collector of vintage clothing myself, I knew that the use of vintage fabrics would give us the aesthetic we wanted to achieve as well as make our pieces almost impossible to recreate,” adds Lee.

Co-founder Thompson echoes Lee’s words regarding the exclusivity of each garment: “We want our supporters to know that if they are rocking one of our pieces, they are the only person in the world who is. And since our entire collection was handmade in New York, they can also expect a garment of really great quality. Each piece is a work of art, and we truly believe that.”
