July 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Long Island City’s state-of-the-art luxury condominium The Murano recently hosted the fifteen finalists from season eight of hit series Food Network Star, who are competing to win the ultimate prize: their own Food Network show.   Finalists resided at the 80-percent-sold building during the show’s two-month shoot.  Food Network icons Alton Brown, Giada De Laurentiis and Bobby Flay each hand-selected their own team of finalists and mentored them through the grueling Star competition, which will culminate in the season finale on Sunday, July 22nd at 9pm ET/PT.

“We hope the contestants enjoyed practicing their winning recipes in our professionally equipped gourmet kitchens. We’re honored the Murano was chosen to be part of such a popular show,” said Eric Benaim, CEO and President of Modern Spaces. “Murano is located in Long Island City just four minutes from Grand Central, making it ideal for contestants to get in and around the city for filming with ease,” he adds.

The Food Network Star cast resided in  spacious two-bedroom homes,  some featuring south and west views of the city while others enjoyed north and west views including Midtown, Downtown, East River, Brooklyn and the Williamsburg Bridge.  The series shot inside and outside the Murano during production.

Developed by Hudson Equities JV and Developer Jim Plotkin, Murano has been meticulously designed to combine original architectural elements with top-quality design. The building’s floor plans, finishes and amenities are unmatched with any other residential building in the area and it’s uniquely targeted to the discerning buyer looking for excellence and value.

Murano has been uniquely designed with a never-before-seen LED lighting effect that is a first for any residential condominium. The building’s architecture design includes an innovative water feature and an all-glass façade. The Murano utilizes green finishes throughout and eco-friendly building materials within its structure.

Homes at Murano provide a spacious and modern design with each unit featuring high-end finishes, sleek oak pearl hardwood flooring, and expansive floor-to-ceiling glass walls that welcome exceptional light. Homes also include video intercom system and low-emissivity glass windows and selected homes include balcony/terrace space, offering premier exclusivity and plenty of privacy for taking in the dramatic city horizon.
