About Mark Bayliss
After spending his teenage years and twenties racing short events Mark Bayliss decided to move up to distance events. His racing career started when he began Secondary school. Mark competed in swimming, cycling, running & triathlons, along with playing waterpolo. He also competed for England at Junior Level in Waterpolo and youth level for Great Britain in Duathlon and Triathlon.
Since 2007, Mark has swum the English Channel solo and has also swum as part of a four person relay team, Croydon Amphibians Masters. He has competed in the Sri Chinmoy Lake Zurich Marathon Swim (26.4km) three times, raced two Ironmen triathlons, 13 marathons and 10 ultras, including the Marathon des Sables.
He is in training for his next challenge, the Enduroman Arch to Arc, which starts with an 87 mile run from London's Marble Arch to the Dover coast, then a swim across the English Channel to the French coast, and finally finishing with a 181 mile bike from Calais to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
