54 proud TNT UAE Express employees donate blood

July 9, 2012 - PRLog -- United Arab Emirates, July 9th, 2012 – TNT Express UAE has successfully organised a blood donation camp in conjunction with the Dubai Blood Donation Centre of the Dubai Health Authority on Monday 25th of June 2012.

The centre was launched to show support and inspire others in the blood donation process. It began with a vision to educate people about blood donation and its mission is to help people when they are in need of Blood.

Nowadays many people are struggling to find information about blood donors. UAE Donors’ main aim is to provide valuable information about blood donors and give support to blood seekers.

The camp was organised at the TNT Express Middle East head office in Dubai where 54 employees voluntarily donated blood.

Mark Pell, Country General Manager for TNT Express UAE commented, “We all strive to make a difference to the world in our own little way. Extending our help in saving someone's life is just another way of doing our bit for humanity.”

Staff and management at TNT Express UAE were delighted to be supporting the drive to increase the number of blood donors in the UAE.

“Safe blood saves millions of lives each year. It has been shown all over the world that regular, voluntary, non-remunerated blood donation by low-risk donors is key to saving lives. As part of our corporate responsibility, we are pleased that our teams are engaged in such an important initiative”, added Syed Atif Ali, Corporate Responsibility Reporting & Compliance Manager for TNT Express.

You can all take consolation in the thought that every time a life is saved, your kindness and dedication to your community was a part of it. A very special thanks to TNT Express UAE for their fantastic job in organising the drive,” commented Nadia Kalantar Head of Marketing & Blood Donor Recruitment Unit, Dubai Blood Donation Centre Pathology & Genetics Department.

Due to the event’s success, another blood donation camp will be organised later this year to involve the TNT UAE operations team at its Dubai main depot facility.
