July 8, 2012 - PRLog -- Holiday Inn Al Barsha joined hands with 4,400 hotels of the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) to thank and honour the 330,000 people who work tirelessly in the hospitality chain to create 'Great Hotels Guests Love' - not one thank you, or two, but a 'Celebrate Service Week' of Thank You that ran from June 25 to 29.

"'Celebrate Service' is our way of recognizing and appreciating the efforts that our employees are putting in to make Holiday Inn Dubai Al Barsha a four-star value option with a five-star feel. That takes hard work and dedication, a commitment to provide quality service and attentive response to our guests, to constantly improve performance and to uphold our Group values," stressed General Manager JS Anand.

As IHG Chief Executive points out, thank you is a simple way of saying we care, straight from the heart. It doesn't have to be complicated.

"We said thank you with fun outings, competitions and games, celebrating the occasion together as a family and team. Special achievers were 'crowned' in our 'You've Been Great Coronation', and we also distributed T-shirts with personalised 'celebrate service' name badges as well as special gift bags," added Salima Hussaini, Director of HR & Training.

That wasn't all. Mr Anand's 'Let's serve you' message was picked up by the multi-national department heads who participated in a cooking competition to prepare special dishes based on recipes from their home countries for a 'Lunch All Together'.

The 'Let's Celebrate' fever spread to include a lunch of 'yum yum dishes' prepared by talented chefs at Gharana, the hotel's excellent Indian restaurant, a dhow cruise, and a health-themed staff get together featuring a 'health menu' at Rainbow. The week was about togetherness, teamwork and showing appreciation for every individual effort. At the end of it, there was a new spring in everybody's step and a fresh resolve to improve the guest experience at the hotel.
