July 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Local real estate development company Winfield Lee Investments & Development of Scottsdale, Arizona recently joined with race car driver Pete Olson to sponsor his Racing for Children efforts for ChildFund International, in an Asia Formula Renault race event June 17th at Zhuhai International Circuit in Zhuhai, China.

For the past several years the BELL Helmets and Drift Innovation [http://www.DriftInnovation.com]-sponsored race driver has promoted his Racing for Children program to the benefit of the ChildFund International [formerly the Christian Children’s Fund]. The purpose of the program is to use the unique venue and excitement of auto racing to promote the organization and find more sponsors for children, by advertising the ChildFund logo on the racecar and using race events to generate media interest in ChildFund.

Through the program, ChildFund has received free media publicity distributed to more than a half million readers in various publications in the United States. Olson currently sponsors two children with ChildFund, a girl Araya from Thailand and a boy Shivnarine from the Dominican Republic. “If it gets one more person to sponsor a child and change a life, it will be worth it” said Olson.

"I'd really like to thank Winfield Lee Investments for making possible this race and my drive to earn the distinction of becoming the first American to win a pro race series in China…and Winfield Lee’s support for my Racing for Children efforts is helping to generate strong publicity for ChildFund through professional auto racing. I definitely expect to be on the podium next time around," said a confident Olson.

Olson excelled in the Formula Renault race weekend despite qualifying in the back of the grid after having only one flying lap due to on-track incidents in heavy rain. In Race One, Olson charged up the field from 14th to 8th in just 6 laps before being hit off the track by another driver. In Race Two, he moved up several positions to finish in the top ten, earning 12 series points for the weekend [video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V07Dv22pmpc]

The Indy 500-aspiring driver is the only American currently competing in the prestigious 170mph Asia Formula Renault race series, which is watched by more than 100 million television viewers in mainland China on ESPN Star and other media. He has used auto racing to promote the Racing for Children program for the past several years in his auto racing endeavors in the United States and Asia.
