Capita announce details of their Raising Secondary School Standards in Wales Conference
Capita’s Raising Secondary School Standards in Wales Conference provides a critical forum to share experiences and take away strategies to help drive up standards and performance in secondary education and exceed expected outcomes for pupils.
Raising school standards is a major priority for the Welsh Government with an emphasis on improving levels of literacy, numeracy and reducing the impact of poverty. The introduction of the School Standards and Organisation (Wales) Bill in April 2012 will further consolidate statutory guidance for school improvement. With councils expected to be working as part of new regional education consortia by September 2012, it is imperative for colleagues and stakeholders from schools and local authorities to share proven best practice models.
This tailored programme features outstanding case studies including Band 1 Schools andguidance from leading education experts to get the practical knowledge necessary to meet the Welsh Government’s priorities and achieving the Level 2 threshold including English and Maths.Key themes of the conference include:
• Embedding key skills across the curriculum
• Tracking and monitoring pupil progress to tailor provision and intervention
• Strengthening support and challenge as part of effective school improvement
• Partnership working between schools, local authorities, consortia and central agencies
