July 4, 2012 - PRLog -- Independence Day marks the 8th anniversary of a yet-to-be-investigated breach of national security, reported by the Department of Homeland Security whistleblower Julia Davis. Julia worked as a Customs and Border Protection Officer at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, CA - the nation’s busiest land border crossing.

On the 4th of July, 2004 Julia Davis reported her former agency’s failure to enter 23 aliens from terrorist countries into the appropriate databases. Intelligence alerts identified that date as a “Day To Watch” of special importance, when Al Qaeda members were reportedly plotting to penetrate the U.S./Mexico borders.

When the DHS failed to take any action or to address why the procedures were not followed, Julia made a report to the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force. Davis did exactly what the CBP training instructed officers to do.

Heads of the DHS saw this as a potentially embarrassing media fiasco. Julia’s report was closed the same day, with no action or investigation. Instead of looking into the suspicious entries of subjects from terrorist countries, the agency would spend years and millions of taxpayer dollars on retaliation against an inconvenient truth-teller. Julia’s home was raided with a Blackhawk helicopter and a Special Response Team, she was twice maliciously prosecuted and falsely imprisoned. Julia’s family and witnesses (including the late film star Brittany Murphy) have also encountered terrifying persecution.

This retaliation would grow into a grotesque nightmare of astronomic proportions, unprecedented in any whistleblower case in modern history. Julia’s fight for her rights would take nearly a decade. Now the Julia Davis story is finally breaking through the veil of obstruction and government cover-up in the documentary film “Top Priority: The Terror Within”.

After the premiere at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Fleur De Lis Film Studios commenced the theatrical release of the film at the IFC Film Center in New York City/ Manhattan from June 29 through July 5, 2012, followed by West Coast screens at the Laemmle NoHo Theatre in North Hollywood, CA from July 13 to July 19, 2012.

“Fourth of July marks the beginning of Julia’s journey through the labyrinth of government corruption,” said Producer BJ Davis, “and this anniversary is an important milestone in her plight with the release of this documentary.“Top Priority: The Terror Within” is a fitting film to be shown on Independence Day, because this case is a powerful example of American patriotism in action.”
