Oregon Wine Named Best Pinot Noir From the US

July 2, 2012 - PRLog -- On May 22, 2012, at the Decanter World Wine Awards in London, the WillaKenzie Estate 2009 Pinot Noir Aliette was named “Best In Show” among all Pinot Noirs from the United States. The 2009 Pinot Noir Aliette, the first Oregon Pinot Noir to earn a Gold Medal (or 5 stars) in this annual competition, went on to compete against other Gold Medallists to win the title of best Pinot Noir from the United States.  

Over 200 wine merchants, sommeliers, journalists and authors including 54 Masters of Wine and 11 Master Sommeliers, took part in a week of judging in April. Out of 47 regions, many wines took medals, but only one medal could go to the Best In Show for Pinot Noir from the United States.
