WellCare Joins Champions for Children Campaign & Pledges $250,000 to Support Children's Home Society

WellCare of Florida, Inc. and the WellCare Community Foundation have joined the Children’s Home Society of Florida Champions for Children campaign. WellCare has pledged $250,000 over a period of three years to support the campaign.
 
July 2, 2012 - PRLog -- Tampa, Florida — WellCare of Florida, Inc. and the WellCare Community Foundation, two affiliated subsidiaries of WellCare Health Plans, Inc. , have joined the Children’s Home Society of Florida Champions for Children campaign. As part of the commitment, WellCare has pledged $250,000 over a period of three years to support the campaign.

“WellCare is proud to collaborate with Children’s Home Society of Florida, and we look forward to helping raise awareness, so others are encouraged to join us as Champions for Children,” said Chrissie Cooper, president of WellCare’s Florida and Hawaii Division. “Like Children’s Home Society of Florida, WellCare has made a commitment to enhancing the health and lives of children and their families. Through collaboration, we can extend our reach and help build brighter futures for the children across our state.”

During a Champions for Children campaign kickoff event on June 22, WellCare was recognized as one of two presenting corporate partners for committing to the highest level of financial sponsorship. In addition to financial resources, WellCare will support Children’s Home Society of Florida efforts by providing leadership, raising awareness and engaging its associates and business partners. Together, WellCare, Children’s Home Society of Florida and other Champions for Children campaign participants will launch statewide efforts that emphasize child safety, health, well-being and success in life, while helping to build strong families for children.

Last year, Children’s Home Society of Florida served nearly 200,000 children and their families. WellCare of Florida serves more than 300,000 children across the state through Florida’s Medicaid and Healthy Kids programs.
