-- Independent Distribution Group, LLC is a distributor of film and television programming for independent filmmakers, producers and distributors. Formed in January 2012, the company has created a new video streaming site coined “the Netflix for indie filmmakers” by IDG CEO Greg Galloway. “It’s our goal to stay on the cutting edge of technology and I think our subscribers will be happy with our plans for growth” he concluded. Galloway a 12-year veteran in the film industry created IDG to provide more opportunities for filmmakers to share their work and to earn revenue in the process.
Tulix Systems, Inc. has provided application & media development and streaming services for industry notables such as Time-Warner, BBN, The Word Network and Channels TV and is now using their expertise to provide streaming technology to IDG in their new site iflixtv.com. “We think iflixtv is a perfect partnership and IDG has developed a great platform” says Dr. Nino Doijashvili, EVP of Tulix Systems, Inc.
iflixtv hosts one of the largest libraries of independent films in the country along with classic and new release titles. Their films star the latest and greatest in independent cinema along with a few familiar faces lending their talents to the arts including Ice-T, Coolio, Pat Morita, Traci Bingham, Kyra Sedgwick and Danny Glover to name a few. In their classic line up, they host films starring Robert De Niro, Sandra Bullock, Billy Bob Thornton, Richard Gere, Bill Murray, Elizabeth Taylor and Jim Carey.
Iflixtv.com launched July 1, 2012 at an offering of $4.99 with an initial 7-day free trial period. At a price point of less than a $5.00 a month subscription iflixtv.com was created to tap into the market of over 1.3 million festival-goers in the US. With the True Stream™ technology, iflixtv offers secure adaptive streaming to any device. This technology makes it possible to view films, television series, documentaries and short films with almost no buffering. This feature depends partially on the viewer's internet speed connection but in most cases there is virtually no buffering. The site is sectioned into “Cafes” for men, women, kids, foreign and soon to come 3D films. Iflixtv also has plans for a Roku channel and Smart TV apps in the late 3rd quarter of 2012. Iflixtv.com looks to change the way indie filmmakers earn revenue and gain exposure for their content. Their mantra, “New Films, New Faces, Low Prices, declare your independence at iflixtv.com"
