It's a Knockout for St. Clare's Hospice

June 27, 2012 - PRLog -- St. Clare’s Hospice is delighted to announce the return of the popular fundraising activity It’s a Knockout on Sunday 19th August 2012 at Bents Park in South Shields.
The Hospice is inviting teams of ten to come and compete on the course to take up the challenge of a series of fun, foamy and inflatable games, which are reminiscent of the 1970’s television show. Whether you remember the T.V series or not It’s a Knockout is a unique inflatable challenge course which provides bags of fun for the participants and spectators alike!
Places are filling up with 10 teams taking part from across the South of Tyne area. With inventive team names like ‘The Jumping Amazing Super Optimistic Noodle Squad’, it looks set to be a wacky and fun time for all!

Places at the event are available for a donation of £15 per person or £150 per team of ten. Each participant must raise £100 in sponsorship which all goes towards the St. Clare’s Hospice annual fundraising target.

St. Clare’s is based in Jarrow, South Tyneside and needs to raise almost £2m every year in order to continue providing specialist care to patients with life-limiting illnesses across the South of Tyne area.

Vanessa Mustard-Wright Senior Fundraiser for the charity explained,
“Last year’s event was such a success we are hoping that the local community will once again support the event and take part in a fun challenge! Whether it’s a team from your local sporting club or a workplace or just a group of friends, we welcome all participants. Spectators are also welcome to attend and cheer on their friends or family! We are also on the lookout for stall holders and prizes so that we can run a range of fundraising activities throughout the day and would love to hear from anybody who would like to support the event by attending with a stall or donating a prize.”

Last years event raised almost £14,000 for the Hospice . St. Clare’s is hoping to raise even more this year during their 25th Anniversary of providing palliative care in the South of Tyne area.

Once registered teams will  receive a fundraising pack which includes a DVD of the action from previous events, sponsor forms and information on JustGiving to help them on their way in gathering sponsorship.
