June 27, 2012 - PRLog -- Star Cinema’s latest 19th anniversary offering and newest pairing between Coco Martin and Angeline Quinto proved to be successful as their movie “Born To Love” you became a blockbuster hit in its Philippine screening.  The Filipino Channel (TFC) is enthusiastic the movie will equal, if not surpass the numbers as overseas Filipinos are anticipating its worldwide release via the premier network.

Star Cinema and co-producer Cine Media’s gamble on the Coco Martin and Angeline Quinto team-up was sparked by Angeline’s admission of her admiration for Coco, dubbed the “Indie Film King of the Philippines,” in her first major concert in the Philippines.  Director Jerome Pobocan tried to bank on this initial interest in the partnership on top of their innate talent.

Separately in real life, the two performers have already made a name for themselves in their own right.  Coco, has already carved a name for himself in the Philippine movie industry as a major star with multiple TV series hits and awards for his in-depth acting.  He has earned more raves especially in his most recent television hit “Walang Hanggan.”

Meanwhile, Angeline, “Queen of Teleserye Songs” started as an aspiring singer joining competitions in the Philippines for a chance to hit it big.  She finally got her break as the champion in ABS-CBN’s singing competition “Star Power.”  She has soon become the singer of choice for ABS-CBN’s most popular drama series.

While both started as relative unknowns, Angeline and Coco excelled in their own fields with their sheer determination.  In the story “Born To Love you,” Angeline and Coco share a wounded past but chose to cope in very different ways.

Coco’s character Rex was left by his mother when he was a child and never moved on and forgave his mother.  Because of this, he always appears to be full of angst.  Meanwhile, Angeline’s character Joey is an adopted daughter who loves her second parents dearly but hopes to see his Korean father one day.

Every time they cross paths in the movie, Coco and Angeline come into conflict but viewers cannot deny the chemistry that they share and which the two performers eventually recognize in the movie.
