The Money Advice Trust (MAT) is predicting a 23% increase in the number of people living in Wales who will need debt advice by 2015.

The figure is based on predictions of job losses in the public and private sector by PricewaterhouseCoopers, which is forecasting a loss of 52,000 public sector jobs in Wales over the next two years.

Northern Ireland is also expected to be hit hard by public sector job losses.

MAT recently said that a recent drop in the number of insolvencies may not necessarily mean "good news" -- but that more people might actually be unable to afford to pay GBP700 fee to declare themselves bankrupt.
