Great Little Breaks hit the high street

Great Little Breaks, the UK’s newest short breaks specialist which offers UK getaways with added extras and treats, has linked up with leading independent travel agent, The Midcounties Co-op Travel.
 
June 26, 2012 - PRLog -- The company’s first trade partnership will see its range of escapes, including Great Little Gourmet Breaks, Great Little Family Breaks, Great Little Explorer Breaks and Great Little City Breaks, sold in 42 high street branches of Midcounties Co-op Travel and via its website.

Great Little Breaks, which launched in November 2011, has agreed a deal to provide Midcounties with five exclusive ‘Best of British’ breaks each week with up to 70% discounts on packaged trips including hotel accommodation, rail travel where appropriate, tickets to attractions and events, and added value, such as a gourmet dinner, a spa treatment, a bottle of fizz and a cream tea on arrival.

Midcounties Co-op Travel is one of the UK’s largest independent travel companies (overall sales of over £100 million) with branches across the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire. The business is currently establishing its new Co-op Consortium and further growth plans include establishing additional relationships with selected partners.

Initial training has taken place to ensure that all Midcounties Co-op Travel staff are fully briefed on Great Little Breaks’ broad range of breaks. Ongoing guidance and incentives will be given in the form of familiarisation trips, regular visits by a team of merchandisers, staff training sessions by Great Little Breaks staff, weekly e-mail updates and earning potential towards a free Great Little Break.

A couple of current, exclusively-priced Great Little Breaks available through Midcounties Co-op Travel:

Cotswold Gourmet Break, £52.50 pp: an overnight stay at the Frogmill Hotel in the Cotswold hills for £52.50 pp (based on two sharing) including: a gourmet dinner in the hotel’s restaurant, Adam’s Pantry; a bottle of wine in your room on arrival; and a full English breakfast.

Darlington Beamish Break, £83.50 pp: two nights’ accommodation at the Aston Darlington Hotel just north of the Yorkshire Dales is £83.50 pp (based on two sharing) including: a three-course dinner on the first evening; full English breakfast on both mornings; and tickets to the world-famous Beamish Open Air Museum that tells the story of life in North East England in Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian times.
