Vivaldi or Vagabonds? Guillemots play Hard Rock Cafe Manchester

The lead singer of the Guillemots apologises for the state of his clothes while on stage at Manchester’s Printworks.

June 26, 2012 - PRLog -- The lead singer of the band Guillemots apologised for the state of his clothes while he was on stage at Manchester’s Printworks on the 19th June.

Ironically Fyfe sang the lyrics for ‘She’s always a woman” for the recent John Lewis advert.

Fyfe Dangerfield and his indie rock band were showcasing music from four new albums they’re releasing this year.

“I’m sorry, I’ve not had time to buy anything for this new tour yet.”

They’ve been recording at a secret Norwegian hideaway, described as their own private ‘Narnia’ in the mountains.   The former Brit and Mercury nominees are always trying to challenge themselves.

“We’ve made albums around the seasons.  It is amazing how much your environment can influence you.  It was quite magical to be able to look at the stars and be inspired.” says Fyfe.

Vivaldi or not, the gig at Hard Rock Cafe was part of their road to London’s Hard Rock Calling and other major festivals this year.

They had big success with Get Over It and Made-Up Lovesong #43.  Fyfe was classically trained on the piano, which makes for an interesting cross over with rock music.

“’Go Get Amazed by the Day’, is probably my favourite lyric at the moment, from the song called Fleet.

“I think that would be my advice to anyone.  The most important thing for me is following my instincts. Don’t let things cloud you. Don’t think about trying to prove yourself or make a statement.  Just think about the purity of the thing that you’re trying to do.”

Their new album Hello Land! is being sold online now.
