Jim Jermanok will cover the following: determining the type of writing best suited for you; creating an original, distinctive and sellable idea; avoiding basic literary and commercial pitfalls; researching effectively; finding the best genre for you; using your life as a creative guide; building a support network; outlining efficiently; creating memorable characters; writing dialogue that works; analyzing elements of a scene; rewriting, rewriting, rewriting; knowing when your script is ready; distinguishing yourself and your work; promoting yourself; art of the schmooze; networking and a networking system; finding and meeting the right agents, managers and producers for you; assembling a team; career strategies; and making things happen now!

Jim Jermanok has spoken to dozens of audiences worldwide at colleges and universities, film festivals, theaters, and media/arts organizations on succeeding in the world of entertainment. For the first decade his career, Jim was employed as an ICM (International Creative Management) Agent where he represented Alan Arkin, John Guare, Helen Hayes, Arthur Miller, Shirley MacLaine, Dudley Moore, Henry Winkler and General H. Norman Schwarzkopf, among others. There, he was privy to understanding the specific qualities that were shared by successful or name actors, writers, directors, and producers. What they have in common in contrast to the majority of creative folks who fail to make a living in their chosen creative field.

For the past 16 years Jim Jermanok has had the good fortune to work as an award-winning writer, director and producer in independent film, theater, television and new media. In 2003, a full-length feature romantic comedy he wrote and produced, "PASSIONADA," was released by The Samuel Goldwyn Company domestically and by Columbia Tri-Star internationally in over 150 countries. He was  fortunate to receive high praise from numerous prominent film critics, including "Two Thumbs Up!" from Ebert and Roper. In 2008, Jim produced "EM," an intense romantic drama by the gifted writer-director, Tony Barbieri ("The Magic of Marciano"). "EM" had it world premiere in June 2008 at the Seattle Intl. Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Film from among the more than 200 entries. It had a worldwide release late last year by Vanguard Cinema and SnagFilms.
