Nextpoint Announces Support for Forensic Disk Images Across eDiscovery and Trial Services

Nextpoint’s Trial Cloud™ and Discovery Cloud™ web-based litigation technology can now import large forensic images and file formats quickly and easily

June 26, 2012 - PRLog -- CHICAGO-  Nextpoint, Inc., the nation’s leading provider of cloud-based regulatory, compliance, and litigation software announced today that its Discovery Cloud™ and Trial Cloud™ services can process large forensic image file formats, eliminating an unnecessary source of cost and delay in the eDiscovery process.

The exploding volume of digital evidence that is discoverable for litigation poses a major challenge to the legal profession. Nextpoint has made it easier and more efficient to import and process files types such as EnCase evidence files (E01) and Apple Disk Images (dmg) in order to quickly prepare data for litigation. By incorporating the processing of these file types into the import process, litigators can begin the review process immediately, without needing to first extract files or hire forensics experts for the task.

Litigators often rely on these very large file types for conducting forensic examinations in the discovery phase of a trial. The new Disk Image import option is now available in Trial Cloud and Discovery Cloud, allowing users to easily import disk images through a simple drop-down menu. The new functionality also makes it easy for litigators to choose only the files and data they need for their case. Simply choose the set of files or directories needed for processing in order to narrow the scope of the data to be uploaded. Combined with the recently announced DeNIST file filtering feature, users can quickly focus on the important documents within a collection of evidence.

With this expanded support for large file formats, Nextpoint continues to offer industry-leading eDiscovery processing and review capabilities in a scalable, cloud-based litigation and trial technology platform. “Our cloud-based discovery solutions are designed to simplify the processing of large volumes of evidence in litigation,” says Rakesh Madhava, CEO of Nextpoint. “The Disk Image import option is one more example of how Nextpoint is streamlining the processing and review of documents, eliminating needless costs, and empowering lawyers to perform more tasks themselves without the aid of expensive consultants.”
