June 25, 2012 - PRLog -- So you're convinced that contracting with Government Agencies is a smart way to grow your business. But how do you find out about available contracts and how to position your company for success in the public sector?

The16th Annual Government Procurement Conference, hosted by The University of Texas at Arlington Extension Centers, which include  the Cross Timbers Procurement Center, the SBDC for Enterprise Excellence, and TMAC, Wednesday, July 18th at the Arlington Convention Center is a great place to start.

Many government agencies promote the inclusion of diverse small business participation.  US Federal Contractor Registration reports over $17B awarded to Texas businesses in to date for FY 2012. In fact, Texas' contract awards make up 8.16% of contacting dollars. Make sure your small business gets the opportunity to compete. Successful Marketing is a necessary step to win contracts, particularly the development of a capability statement. Bring your capability statement to the Resource Lounge at the center of the Exhibit Hall for a FREE review or to create one.

Congressman Joe Barton serves as honorary event chair along with Congresswomen Eddie Bernice Johnson, Kay Granger and Congressmen Sam Johnson and Michael Burgess. Last  year’s conference drew over 1,000 participants.

Register online today and take advantage of opportunities to attend the entire conference for only $90, exhibit for $500 ($150 for government and non-profits) or be an event sponsor at the $1K-$5K levels.

A limited amount of free registrations for veteran- and service-disabled-veteran- owned business attendees and exhibitors are available on the conference website. A CAGE code (commercial and governmental entity) is required at the time of online registration. We’d like to extend our sincerest thanks to DynCorp International for this valuable benefit to our veterans.

The morning keynote speaker is Mr. John Shoraka, Associate Administrator of Government Contracting and Business Development for the Small Business Administration.  Mr. Shoraka's diverse background includes business development, international trade, government contracting and management. The luncheon keynote speaker is Mr. Kevin Grimes, CEO and President of CFO Leasing, Inc and a Procurement Technical Assistance Center advocate. Kevin shares his personal and professional journey to contracting success.
