The live webinar, which Source 44 hosted yesterday, featured an expert panel of news media, NGO and industry representatives. Over 100 professionals located on four continents were in attendance, with the majority representing major Fortune 500 companies impacted by Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act requiring conflict minerals disclosure.

In his welcoming remarks, Jess Kraus, President and CEO of Source 44 set the tone for companies to step up. “Conflict Minerals and the Congo's human rights abuses are merely the poster child for abuses against humanity,” Kraus said. “These abuses will continue unless we, as socially responsible global companies, take responsibility for what happens in our supply chains.”
