By: Cayo-Tech Ltd. Guard My Angel’s recently released version 2.0 allows users to select friends from Facebook to be contacted automatically in case they need help, as well as accident forces detection that result in immediate notification to pre-selected contacts. Guard My Angel is a free mobile application which provides automatic and semi-automatic notifications to assigned contacts that ensures the safety and security of people when in transit. It works by allowing users to select contacts that he/she wishes to notify in the event of an emergency or unforeseen incident. The app works by allowing the user to select contacts that he/she wishes to notify in the event of an emergency via Facebook, text messages and Emails. Before the user goes out, they set a timer for approximately how long the activity should take and when they approach the end of that activity they simply press a button to indicate that they are OK. In the event that the user is unable to press the I’m OK button, or if the user hits the SOS button, or if an accident force is detected, then an automatic notification would go out to all of the previously identified trusted contacts. That notification would contain a link to a Google map which tracks the phone to the last traceable location. The application is currently available for android phones on the Google Play with an iOS version coming soon.
