New report: The Path to 4G: Transformation of Asia/Pacific's Mobile Network Infrastructure:

June 20, 2012 - PRLog -- ReportBuyer.com has added a new report http://www.reportbuyer.com/go/IDC12748
Summary of Report  -
This IDC study takes a closer look at key network transformation trends that are happening at Asia/Pacific's major mobile network operators (MNOs) as they prepare for dual-mode 3G/LTE, 4G LTE, and 4G WiMAX services. Virtually all aspects of the network from the radio access side to the transport to the packet core to the IT systems and OSS/BSS will need to undergo varying degrees of transformation to deal with the challenges that will come from low-latency, high-speed 3G HSPA+/4G services.

Bill Rojas, Director of Telecom Research at IDC Asia/Pacific, noted "The leading incumbent integrated carriers might have a slight advantage if they can converge their IT and transport networks on both the fixed-line and mobile side of the business. Pure mobile network operators with no fixed-line business will need to aggressively invest in the mobile backhaul. The relationship between leading MNOs and over-the-top (OTT) providers will be an interesting dynamic to watch and could work out mutually beneficial if both sides can find solid business justification to cooperate."
