Tata Elxsi’s Trivandrum Centre renamed to Ramanathan Natarajan Development Centre

June 20, 2012 - PRLog -- Bangalore - June 20, 2012: Tata Elxsi, India’s leading Design Company and part of the $ 83.3 billion Tata group, today announced the renaming of its Trivandrum Research Centre (TRC) at the Travancore Hall - Park Centre, Technopark, Thriruvananthapuram. The centre has been renamed to Ramanathan Natarajan Development Centre (RNDC) in the memory of its visionary mentor Mr. Ramanathan Natarajan.

Tata Elxsi’s RNDC focuses on supporting Transportation, Broadcast & Semicon customers for  embedded software, hardware and systems, helping them reduce time to market and cost of product development. This includes development of software and systems for high reliability and mission critical applications such as Automotive and Aerospace.

Mr. Ramanathan Natarajan popularly known as RN amongst his colleagues joined Tata Elxsi in April 2001 from Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC). He was instrumental in the growth of the Centre to a centre of excellence with more than 1,000 engineers today. Mr. Natarajan’s contributions to Tata Elxsi in a span of 9 years were many and varied, and his leadership qualities and spirit of winning, set him apart. Mr. Natarajan had more than 30 years of experience in embedded technology in providing mission critical solutions for different business verticals like avionics, automotive and industrial automation. He was regarded as a visionary leader and highly respected by everyone who worked with him.

As a mark of respect and to honour this Visionary Technocrat, the Ramanathan Natarajan Development Centre plans to conduct a technical event annually. The first of this series is a technical session by India’s senior space scientist – Mr. Parivakkam Subramaniam Veeraraghavan presently the Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Mr. Veeraraghavan would be speaking on the topic ‘Autonomous Access to Space – Opportunities and Challenges.
