b.good Restaurants to Host Ninth Annual Summer BBQ; Proceeds to Benefit Artstreet
b.good (bgood.com), an 8-unit restaurant business committed to making fast-food "real", today announced it's ninth Annual Family BBQ, with proceeds to benefit local charity Sidewalk Sam and Artstreet.
The b.good BBQ will be held outdoors June 24, 2012, from 1 pm to 6 pm at 500 Harrison Ave., in Boston's South End (next to Sowa Produce Market). It will feature live music, local beer from Cape Anne Brewing, burgers, veggie burgers, chicken sandwiches, grilled corn & salads, shakes, ice cream cones from Ben & Jerry's, drinks, and the first-ever Iron-Chef Burger Battle. Tickets are $18/adults if purchased at EventBrite (http://bgoodfamilybbq.eventbrite.com/)
ArtStreet, Inc. was formed to support the life-long vision of public artist Sidewalk Sam to have the arts become a part of daily life. Incorporated in 1991 as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, ArtStreet brings the arts out of the "culture houses" and into the streets - engaging throngs of people in cultural events. ArtStreet transforms daily life in city streets, campuses, office parks, convention halls, airports, train stations, stadiums, historic districts, ethnic neighborhoods and urban hubs - changing them into expressive sites that promote society’s spirit.
"We've always picked ArtStreet as the beneficiary of our event because of our longstanding history with Sidewalk Sam, a friend to the community as well as b.good's. He's inspiring," said Jon Olinto, Co-Founder of b.good. "When we started b.good, we wanted to build a business that had a positive impact on the communities we're a part of. So, the idea of our Family BBQ is bigger than just us taking a day off, closing our restaurants, and having fun as a company. The ultimate goal is teaming up with our customers and holding a community event that helps a worthy cause within our community."
About b.good, LLC
b.good (bgood.com) is an 8-unit restaurant business on a quest to make fast-food "real". It's also a business started by two childhood best friends who opened their first restaurant in 2004 in Boston's Back Bay. The mission was, and still is, simple -- to serve "real" food fast by serving food made by people, not factories. So, every day at every b.good, they grind fresh steak from local farms to make their burgers. They hand-cut and bake fries and sweet potato fries. They hand-make their own veggie burgers, turkey burgers, chicken sandwiches, salad dressings and sauces from scratch with whole, natural ingredients. Milkshakes and smoothies are made with premium ingredients like locally-made ice cream, whole fruit, and natural juices. b.good has restaurants in Boston, Cambridge, Dedham, Hingham, and Burlington.
