Oswego ATA Students Shine in PrairieFest Parade
Approximately 20 students from Oswego's West of the Moon ATA school marched in the 2012 PrairieFest parade this past Sunday. These students demonstrated a segment of a form, weapons and board breaks along the parade route.
June 19, 2012 - PRLog -- West of the Moon ATA is a family-friendly martial arts school in Oswego, IL that offer's the nation's leading program. The school was selected to participate among a limited number of other local businesses in the 2012 PrairieFest parade on June 17, 2012.
Students of varying ages were featured, from 4-7 year old "Tiny Tigers" all the way to adults. West of the Moon ATA markets itself as a "family friendly school," and several families were in the parade together.
The students demonstrated the first five moves of a poomse (form), several different weapons as well as board breaks.
Temperatures were in the 90's during the parade and students were dressed in their full white doboks (uniforms). "I was extremely proud of how well everyone performed under such hot conditions,"
The entire instruction staff walked in the parade including chief instructor Mrs. Charlotte Kennerly and specialty instructor Miss Cydney Olah. Both Olah and Kennerly are top 10 finalists that will be competing at ATA's World Championships this year.
