The Bookmarks Store Announces The Coffee Filter Summer Bridal Bouquet Contest

June 18, 2012 - PRLog -- The Bookmarks Store, a division of Musselman's Online Publishing, announces their first contest in conjunction with the launch of their new blog at http://the-bookmarks-store.com/blog.  The Coffee Filter Summer Bridal Bouquet contest is underway as of June 12, 2012.

When asked what sparked the idea of using coffee filters for a contest, Karen Musselman, owner of The Bookmarks Store said, "I found a YouTube video about how to make roses from coffee filters.  Then while my cousin and I were making some of them, and carnations made from coffee filters, I thought, well, the Toilet Paper Wedding Dress goes over so well each year, why not have a contest using coffee filters instead."

And so the idea was launched for the first Coffee Filter Contest, but not for using coffee filters to make a wedding a dress.  "I thought that would be a little too much for a first contest," Karen says.  "The blog needs to build up more of an audience and the prizes need to more than what's in the budget right now in order for people to want to make something that substantial.  Bouquets don’t take that long to make and you don't need as many coffee filters for them as you would for a wedding dress."

As for the list of prizes, Mrs. Musselman gave that a bit of thought while planning out the details of the contest.  "We're trying to increase exposure to another of our businesses, my husband's line of custom wine bottles, mason jars and redneck wine glasses," Karen added.  "So for our Kickoff contest, we're giving away custom wine bottles, mason jars and redneck wine glasses, as well as a set of custom bookmarks."

The Bookmark Store's first Coffee Filter Contest is focused on summer brides.  Mrs. Musselman plans to have a few Coffee Filter Contests per year on a seasonal or holiday basis, as a way to gain interactive readership to her new blog.  She expects to start the next contest around mid-September or so with a Halloween focus, followed by a Coffee Filter Christmas Contest with handmade trees or wreaths.

For 2013, The Bookmarks Store Blog expects to launch its first contest of the year with a Coffee Filter Valentines Contest making bouquets of long-stemmed red roses followed by an April-May contest with an Easter focus, after which the second annual Coffee Filter Summer Bridal Bouquet Contest will launch in June of 2013.
