Dollywood Welcomes One Boy USO on Opening Weekend of KidsFest 2012!

June 18, 2012 - PRLog -- Pigeon Forge, TN  – The largest children’s festival in the South selected a pint-sized kid to help them kick off KidsFest 2012. Nine-year-old Cody Jackson, known across America as the One Boy USO, will be visiting Dollywood during the festival’s opening weekend to sign his debut children’s book, Pint-Sized Patriots: Coloring and Activity Book, at the Liberty Shop on June 23 and 24. Cody and his family live in Atlanta and have been invited to the patriotic-themed shop to interact with fans and help show other kids the importance of supporting US troops. Cody will be signing his book and interacting with fans from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and also from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Cody Jackson has already thanked more than 10,000 of our country’s heroes. He first gained notoriety as the One Boy USO for his frequent visits to the Atlanta airport to welcome home troops. His work doesn’t stop at shaking hands and waving flags. He collects donations to fund care packages and day-brightening letters to those serving overseas. After noticing the lack of patriotism in his peers, Cody wanted to let other kids know, “It’s okay to be patriotic! If I can do it, you can too!” He has written his patriotic children’s book to share his love of America and her military, and hopes to help other children love their country and troops as much as he does!
