June 17, 2012 - PRLog -- Dr. Laureen Wishom, a positioning and business growth expert and founder of the Global Association of High-achieving Women is now a co-author in the newest edition of Success Simplified: Simple Solutions Measurable Results, along with Dr. Stephen Covey, Dr. Tony Alessandra, and Ms. Patricia Fripp.

Dr. Wishom’s chapter, titled “From Visioning Great to Successing Great,” is about defining one’s vision of success and developing a strategic success plan. She believes people who are “successing great” follow many of the same principles that Designer Kimora Lee Simmons follows.

Kimora’s “live by” quote: “Life is a series of adjustments; you can make changes along the way, but if you don’t start moving forward, you’ll never anywhere.”

She delivers a wealth of information throughout her chapter but she said in order to always success great one must:

• Be an original and not a copy.
• Define his/her VIC—Values, Integrity, and Character Factor.
• Prepare for a lifetime of learning.
• Create a Strategic Success Plan™.
• Be prepared for change and then thrive on the change.
• Practice creative thinking.

Dr. Laureen recommended that every business owner create a bucket list.  She suggested the below items as a starting point:

• Update your on- and off-line presence.
• Get rid of the generalist branding and become a specialist.
• Create your ‘wow’ factor and your differentiation.
• Update your Website and blog to include your unique specialty.
• Accept speaking engagements and develop a weekly newsletter.
• Become active on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
• Get the word out everywhere about what you do (the value of your products or services).
• Identify new needs and re-purpose old products and services.
• Make sure all your “collaterals” (marketing materials) are sending the same message.
• Brand yourself, your business and position yourself in the marketplace (a brand is not
 just a logo).
• Build a high-end client list.

She stated: “The bottom line for those who are visioning great to successing great is simple: look back over the past eighteen months with a critical eye and look forward with a fresh dose of reality. If you want something different, you must do something different”.

Dr. Wishom says, “I always tell people that the greatest compliments you can give me is to tell me that I am different. When people are different they make a difference.”
