BUYTECH COMPUTER STORE OPENS IN VOLATILE ONLINE MARKET

A new computer store in Sydney, Australia is meeting a gap in the market selling products to small businesses strictly online.

Buytech.com.au (http://www.buytech.com.au) launched this week, and its business model is based on the latest national research which shows the only recent growth in software and hardware sales via the internet.

"The average small to medium enterprise (SME) spent $9,700 last year, compared to $18,800 the year before," said Buytech.com.au (http://www.buytech.com.au) Director, Heather Gilmore.

"That is a cut by almost half, and while the figures aren't good, we've found the right opportunity in a declining market.

"The research, conducted by Sensis*, showed the only area where there was an increase in procurement was online - so that's where we headed.

"On average, SMEs that purchased online reported that they placed 34 per cent of their total procurement online which was up four per cent, and we found that encouraging.

"We also make sure we keep our business pretty local, as 60 per cent of other small businesses said they mainly sold to customers in their city or town.
