June 14, 2012 - PRLog -- Let us be the first to congratulate you on your engagement! This will be one of the most exciting times in your life.

Now that you’re engaged, there are so many things that need to be done. The list is extensive and can make a bride’s head spin. Here at Bella Collina, we have walked hundreds of brides through this process. We know exactly what needs to be done. Here are the most important things to keep in mind as you get started on your wedding plans.

Create a budget. It’s imperative when planning a wedding to first create a budget. This will be a very emotional time for all parties involved, so schedule a time to sit down and discuss finances without emotion. As a bride, the last thing you need is to start planning a wedding you may not be able to afford. This is the most joyous time of your life, so it’s important to do the hard work of making a budget first and then you can enjoy the rest of the planning process.

Determine what is important. Create a list of things that are important to you, i.e. photography, setting, flowers, invitations. This will be critical when determining where to allocate your finances. You can spend less on the unimportant things and indulge on items that you have always dreamed about.

Book the venue. Wedding sites get booked up quickly and far in advance, so this should be one of the first things you do after you become engaged. An important factor to think about before you start the venue search is your estimated guest count. The size of your wedding will instantly narrow down the list of wedding sites. When you book the venue and get that official date in writing, the excitement will set in as you announce “the date” to friends and family.

Create your wedding style. You’ve been dreaming of your wedding for a very long time. Now it is becoming a reality, and the fun can begin. Look through magazines, the internet, and bridal shops to formulate your style. Then, when you start the search for your gown, the bridesmaids’ dresses, flowers, and décor, you will have a better idea of what you really want.

Find a good checklist. The to-do’s for a wedding can be overwhelming, but if you have a good checklist, it doesn’t have to be. Everyday you can look at what needs to be done for the week and organize yourself. Bella Collina has received a 2012 Best of Weddings award from Their interactive checklist is the best on the web.

The most important thing to keep in mind in all of your planning is to enjoy the process. Becoming a Bella Bride means that you put yourself in our hands. With our extensive wedding planning experience, we will walk you through the process and make it the wedding of your dreams.
