June 14, 2012 - PRLog -- eMedicalFusion, LLC, with headquarters in St. Louis, MO and technology leadership in the Virginia technology corridor in Tysons Corner, VA announces that it has been named a Certified Technology Partner by PCCA, developer of The CompounderRx for its eRx Connect product line.  The certification extends eMedicalFusion’s leadership as a provider of enabling technology for physicians engaged in personalized medicine including compounded prescriptions.

eRx Connect is the platform that connects prescribers, compounding pharmacies and patients with next generation technology that saves time and increases accuracy and optimizes the business process for all participants.  eRx Connect provides the following key benefits:
•   Prescribers get instant access to the pharmacy’s entire formulary – avoiding the painful task of creating and managing compound formulary entries in traditional EMR/EHR’s.  This increases accuracy and saves time for prescribers

•   Patients get an easy to read view of their medications and instructions and one click access to pharmacy refills and prescriber refill authorization requests

•   Pharmacies using the Compounder Rx by PCCA get the benefit of prescriptions that automatically populate into the pharmacy’s compound management system for greater efficiency and accuracy

Talking about the PCCA Certification, Andre Etherly CEO and Chief Technology Officer says, “We have been working closely with PCCA to create an understanding of our value proposition and after review, PCCA saw our technology as further enabling their existing Compounder Rx platform.  This module is designed to optimize the entire business process for prescribers, pharmacies that use the CompounderRx and patients and we are very excited to achieve the certified technology partner status with PCCA.”

eRx Connect is different from the major pharmacy networks in that eRx Connect provides a direct connection with compounding pharmacies and this feature allows the prescriber to directly use the pharmacy’s formulary, avoiding the tedious task of creating formulary entries in a traditional e-prescribing tool, thereby saving time and ensuring precise communication with pharmacies.  For pharmacies that do not use the Compounder Rx by PCCA, eRx Connect can still deliver prescriptions to them by secure fax.  And while the system is optimized for compound medications, the system contains a standard drug database and a listing of over 75,000 pharmacies nationwide for prescribing standard medications from regular retail pharmacies.

The PCCA certification ensures pharmacies that eMedicalFusion (http://www.emedicalfusion.com) is committed to working with PCCA to ensure that the systems work together as intended.   The initial release of eRx Connect extends the eMedicalFusion promise of “just add the doctor”, says Etherly. eMedicalFusion’s vision has always been to provide the complete solution for doctors operating in one of the cash/concierge revenue models regardless of their particular specialty.  Some are Antiaging or Age Management physicians, some specialize in Functional Medicine, some characterize their practice as “Integrative” and yet others are Family Practitioners that have decided to opt out of insurance in order to regain control of how they treat patients. There is a growing number of doctors opting out of insurance and eMedicalFusion provides the complete solution whether the practice is new/emerging, well established or a large complex practice consisting of multiple physicians and multiple locations.
