June 13, 2012 - PRLog -- The founding quartet and their team of more than twenty employees concentrate on developing games for various platforms such as Android, iOS, browsers and consoles. An important asset is their proprietary, multi-platform-capable Delta Engine (www.deltaengine.net), most recently used to develop the free-to-play action RPG, SoulCraft (www.soulcraftgame.com) for Android, which is about to be published on other platforms as well.

As a strategic investor, iVentureCapital primarily seeks out promising startups developing innovative, high-potential games and technologies. The Delta Engine designed by MobileBits is a powerful tool which allows games to be published on all platforms with their own app stores, requiring only minimal adjustments. Currently the engine supports Windows, iPad, iPhone, Android, Android Tablets and Windows Phone 7. In addition, MobileBits is one of the select few partners in the Microsoft BizSpark One program, an exclusive group of 100 out of 45,000 BizPark members (www.microsoft.com/bizspark/One/) benefiting from targeted support and heightened exposure through Microsoft’s industry initiative.

For Michael Reul, iVentureCapital co-founder and senior partner, this is not the only reason to invest in the company: “MobileBits’ four-man founding team has years of experience in the games industry, and has delivered convincing results throughout. The innovative Delta Engine allows new free-to-play games like SoulCraft to be played on mobile devices, browsers and, in the near future, also on consoles. We have reached a stage in which the creation of exciting content, as well as making it accessible across a wide range of platforms, are both critical factors for success. Investing in MobileBits associates us with a company that has built up unique expertise in both areas.”

MobileBits CEO, Karsten Wysk, on the iVentureCapital investment: “We made a very conscious decision in our new financing round to go with iVentureCapital, based mainly on their know-how in traffic generation, billing and the monetization of online content. At present, MobileBits is fully focused on the development of our action RPG, SoulCraft, which is not only multi-platform-capable, but utilizes a cloud technology that will also allow the consistent implementation of up-to-date versions on different end user devices.”

Apart from iVentureCapital (www.iventurecapital.com), High-Tech Gründerfonds and Hannover Beteiligungsfonds have invested in MobileBits.

In addition to MobileBits, iVentureCapital recently invested in Farbflut Entertainment (www.farbflut.com). The portfolio also includes BillingPartner (www.billingpartner.com), TrafficCaptain (www.trafficcaptain.com) and Infernum (www.infernum.com). iVentureCapital is seeking other games industry startups for strategic entrepreneurial involvement, i.e. ‘smart money’ investments, which can benefit from the investors’ long-standing experience and synergies with the other companies in the iVentureCapital portfolio. These include developers of browser and mobile games, as well as gaming portals, and affiliate and ad programs, that have begun to establish a successful track record.
