‘European Design’ comes to LA with new Porcelanosa showroom
Porcelanosa-USA, a global industry leader in tile, bathroom, and kitchen design, has opened its first Los Angeles showroom in a 7,000 sq foot space on Beverly Boulevard near Robertson at the core of West Hollywood’s interior design hub.
The facility will join the 400 Porcelanosa showrooms in over 70 countries featuring the company’s signature style and diverse product lines including large format tiles, contemporary bathroom vanities, European style kitchen cabinetry as well as bathroom fixtures such as bathtubs, showers, faucets & more.
“We’ve had tremendous growth, and by opening a West Hollywood venue, we’re not only extending our presence, we’re solidifying our longtime connection with the LA interior and architectural design community.” says Paco Montilla, General Manager.
As with the company’s other showrooms, the new space will feature full scale bathroom and kitchen vignettes that mix and match cutting edge products to evoke elegant residential ambiances. The facility will be staffed by in-house design consultants and a kitchen designer.
“We’re looking forward to hosting events for the architectural and design community,” Montilla continues, noting that the first gathering scheduled for the new showroom is the LA Chapter meeting of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), in August.
Providing the latest in European-influenced architectural and design solutions, Porcelanosa was founded as a tile maker in the small Mediterranean town of Castellon, Spain in 1973. Although it is still owned by the same family, it now functions as a corporate parent to eight subsidiary companies, each with its own specialty and manufacturing facility.
Together the Porcelanosa Group employs over 5,000 people. Porcelanosa has also been committed to eco-friendly practices since its founding and was one of the first conglomerates in the tile industry to obtain an ISO 14001 certification.
In addition to LA, the company has opened a new showroom in Atlanta, Georgia this year, and is considering other locations around the country for 2013. “We want to give people everywhere the opportunity to experience our European designed products in person.” concludes Montilla.
