Carmona and Gomez Get Drafted Out Of Pro Players, Two Local Pro Player Academy's players drafted
 
June 12, 2012 - PRLog -- Hawthorne, NJ – June 12, 2012 – Pro Player Academys’, in Hawthorne, NJ, William Carmona and Anthony Gomez Get Drafted In The 2012 MLB Draft.  William Carmona played four years of varsity baseball at Hempstead HS, and was team MVP 3 times, and was an all county pick as a senior.  Carmona attended Stony Brook University where Louisville Slugger freshman All-American in 2010, Louisville Slugger first team All-American by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper in 2011, and was a Louisville Slugger third team All-American in 2012.  The Philadelphia Phillies in the 11th round of the 2012 MLB Draft drafted Carmona.
   Anthony Gomez played his high school ball at Don Bosco Prep HS.  He also attended Vanderbilt University, where in 2010 he was named a Freshman All-American, First Team All-SEC and All-SEC Freshman Team.  In 2011 he had at least one hit in 54 of 66 games, and in 2012 he was named to the All-Tournament Team at Raleigh Regional.  Tom Corbin, the Head Coach, has been happy with Gomez.  “Anthony has been a very important part of our program the last two years. He came in as a freshman and played right away at second base, then moved to shortstop in 2011. The best word that sums him up is gamer. He loves to compete, has a great feel for the game and is fearless. He gives us great leadership on the field and will continue to be one of the better hitters in the SEC.”  The Miami Marlins in the 6th round of the 2012 MLB Draft drafted Gomez.
