KorTerra, Inc. Expands Product Line to Include Mobile Optimized Websites for Smartphones

KorTerra’s four new mobile website products include Mobile Positive Response, Mobile Ticket Search, Mobile E-Ticket and the soon to be released, Mobile KorWeb. Each mobile website can be accessed using any smartphone or tablet.

When a homeowner or excavator is planning a digging project, by law they must submit their dig information to their state one call center. This information is then sent to a facility operator who visits the dig site and marks any underground facilities that may be present. The facility operator then submits a response to their state one call center, or a positive response, detailing the completed site visit.  

In the past, dig information was communicated to a one call center either through their website or through a phone call. Now, with the ease of using a smartphone, submitting ticket information through Mobile E-Ticket, submitting positive response using Mobile Positive Response and viewing that positive response through Mobile Ticket Search can be done from anywhere, at any time, on a smartphone or tablet.  

“We found that there was a great need to create mobile websites with the rise in smartphone usage. These mobile websites make communication between homeowners, excavators, facility operators and one call centers much easier,” said KorTerra Vice President of Operations, Jeff Law.

Each of the new products offered by KorTerra have been created using HTML5, the latest programming language used in the development of mobile technology. HTML5 allows users the ability to view mobile websites without having to download applications like Adobe Flash.

Using KorTerra’s new mobile websites offered through state one call centers streamlines the steps needed to comply with state laws and safe digging practices. Ticket information can be easily submitted, responded to and monitored using these mobile websites.

Soon, KorTerra will introduce Mobile KorWeb, the mobile version of KorTerra’s ticket management Web-based software, KorWeb. This mobile website, much like KorTerra’s other mobile products, is optimized for either Android or Apple devices and is streamlined for field operators with the latest mobile technology.
