Next Stop for Pit Bulls “Up In Smoke” BBQ Team – Covered Bridge ‘Que GBC Qualifier

June 12, 2012 - PRLog -- The next competition for Pit Bulls “Up In Smoke” BBQ Team is coming up quickly.  The 2nd Annual Covered Bridge ‘Que GBC Qualifier is slated to take place on June 16th, 2012.  Pit Bulls “Up In Smoke” had the pleasure of competing in the GA State Championship event last year and are returning for 2012.  The competition, paying out a $7500.00 purse will take place at Frankie Harris Park in historic downtown Euharlee, Georgia.
This year’s Covered Bridge 'Que -  http://www.euharlee.com/events_bbq.aspx - event promises to be bigger and better than last years, with music, food, arts & crafts vendors, a car show, and kid’s activities, not to mention the battle for the “bragging rights” for the best BBQ in Georgia!  Last year, Pit Bulls “Up In Smoke” BBQ Team finished top ten, but this year we really want that GRAND!  We are going to do our best to deliver and we’ll have to see how the cards play out for us.

Again, we are up against tough competition.  It seems as though we say that every week but it’s true.  The competition barbecue circuit keeps evolving, changing, becoming more challenging it seems at each and every competition we’re in.  You can’t become “comfortable”, you can’t be cocky, you can’t be under the impression you can cook with your eyes closed.  You will get your behind handed to you on a silver platter if you aren’t humble in the serious sport of competition barbecue.  So, although the Covered Bridge ‘Que may be a newer competition in the KCBS series, we will not take for granted the teams we are up against – those we see every week on our tour.

Because the Covered Bridge ‘Que is a GBC (Georgia Barbeque Championship - http://www.georgiabbqchampionship.com/teamrank.aspx) Qualifying event, it holds even more importance to Pit Bulls “Up In Smoke” as we are in the race for the GBC points again this year.  Our first year, 2010, we finished 5th, in 2011 we finished 4th, in 2012 we hope to finish with that Grand!  So, we have the race for the KCBS points and the GBC points in this competition.  The season has just started here in Georgia, so we will have many more competitions slated as GBC Qualifier’s.
