Barrington Levy -
One of the great success stories of the '80s, Barrington Levy, arrived on the dancehall scene and swiftly remodeled it in his own image. Although numerous DJs and vocalists would rise and fall during this decade, Levy was one of the few with staying power, and he continued releasing massive hits well into the '90s.

The Wailers -
Following leader Bob Marley's death from cancer on May 11, 1981, the Wailers Band struggled nearly a decade for direction. the Wailers Band performed well-received international tours almost constantly through the '80s. Lead guitarist Junior Murvin bravely handled most of the vocal chores, and keyboard stalwart Wya Lindo and percussionist Seeco Patterson (who brought the original Wailers to their first audition in 1963) added credibility,

Midnite -
Midnite weaves the cultural lyrics of "old school" roots music with modern day experiences to create a unique listening encounter. Roots Reggae - naked and raw is an apt description for Midnite's musical style, in which they forgo the frills of extensive remixes, overdubbing and other musical refinements.

Freddie McGregor -
Freddie McGregor has been variously a singer, musician and producer. According to Allmusic he is one of reggae's most durable and soulful singers, with a steady career that started in the 1960s, when he was just seven years old

Pablo Moses -
Pablo Moses, born in Jamaica as Pableto Henry, released his first album in 1975, Revolutionary Dream, issued in the United States by UA Records as, I love I Bring “ A university trained poet," according to the Village Voiced Carol Cooper, Moses articulated his Rastafarian ideology with unprecedented political frankness in a high pitched, horn-like voice over rhythms and harmonies laid down by keyboardist/ producer Geoffrey Chung.

Triston Palma -
Palmer has worked as a producer himself, working with artists such as Phillip Frazer, Josie Wales, and Robert Ffrench, and has provided backing vocals for singers such as Sugar Minott, Tony Tuff, and Freddie McGregor. He also built his own Star Creation studio.
